Particpant feedback Eco Storm Dharamsala March 2008

“The fact that so many different people from all over the world met in Dharamsala was already a guarantee for an interesting workshop and a valuable result. The Eco Storm crew did their best to make it a comfortable time for every participant and they did a good job. It was always a nice and very friendly atmosphere and that together with the very good presentations were the perfect setting for a lot of creative minds. Lots of good ideas were written down on these days and I really hope that Basecamp Explorer realizes at least some of these ideas. If I would have to criticize something then there are two points: first of all it was too short and second, the participation around the bon fire every evening was way too less… I would love to come to the next Ecostorm in Kenya, unfortunately I think I won't make it.”

“The workshop enabled people from various backgrounds come together and look at positively impacting the tourism industry in Dharamsala in a more sustainable way. The five-day workshop provided hands on experience with what and how the tourism industry functions and what could be done in future to create a sustainable tourism industry. The unique nature of Dharamsala being home to people from two entirely different culture-- Tibetan and Indian, the workshop took an in depth look at how to create a non-conflicting mutually beneficial tourism industry. However, while understanding all these which were indeed very interesting, the workshop was not at all directly related to my present responsibility, but it was indeed a very experiencing time to be with the workshop and to meet the participants as well as the resource persons”
